Not always do you get plans from the start, we were instructed by our long-standing client who instructed us to provide detailed construction drawings. Our client who is also a recognised planning consultant obtained planning, our challenge was to design all the rooms and to maximise rooms sizes.
The building was a reinforced concrete structure so columns and beams couldn’t be moved. So the questions were the following.
How do we route all the plumbing and how do we make all the separating walls as thin as possible and still be compliant
Solution
We collaborated extensively with carefully selected suppliers to develop the most economically efficient solutions for both the construction drawings and the actual build process. We placed great emphasis on the initial stages, ensuring that each room had sufficient and appropriate ventilation.
After conducting comprehensive research, we discovered a system that allowed for toilet extraction without significantly encroaching upon the headroom in the lobbies. This meticulous approach enabled us to strike a balance between functionality, practicality, and maximizing available space.
