The Project

The client acquired 120 Carlton Court in Maida Vale as a building in poor condition, with broken windows and evidence of unauthorised occupation. The initial intention was a conversion into flats.

The brief changed to a 33-room aparthotel with a reception area. AC Design Solution’s work therefore had to respond to a different accommodation model and the planning context in Westminster.

Architectural Design

Changing the brief from flats to an aparthotel changed how the accommodation and reception needed to be arranged. The design work focused on adapting the existing building to the revised use.
